I started a PhD with the topic "Formation of an intellectual property management system in small innovative enterprises".
But now I want to change the topic to more narrow view: I'm working with smaill enterprises in sport area, and this data and expierence are very different. On one hand I have an innovatibe product for the competitions and very poor management and awful business process. On the other hand I have innovations in business process, good management, but no innovations in technology.
At previous steps of my research I studied different types of innovations and their meaning for small businesses. If I'll change the topic to more practical shape I could compare this enterprises and get more usefull information for the development of small businesses. What do you think, colleagues?
@ Anastasiia, for robust study on IPM strategy for small enterprises, and at PhD level, a comparative analysis should be considered. When you're too narrow in focus, data set may become subjective and unrepresentative of industry average.
As earlier advised by @James however, you need to interact with your Supervisors on this.
