Hello. In my opinion you need to know how to select vocabulary relevant for the age. Also remember that games are the main activities for children so they can help them in the learning process. Assessing the students needs will help you to know their lacks.
Hi! How big is the age range? If it's only a year or two you can take into account their language level (kids have more or less the same knowledge at early years).
Ask them questions about their hobbies, likes & dislikes, etc. to build the first relationship (kids love to talk about themselves + you'll get the information for further lessons).
Use different games, word search activities, watch short videos, or use flashcards for learning and so on. There're plenty of activities, and most of them you can easily find online (ESL resources website as an example). Everything depends on the purpose of studying 😉
Differentiated Instruction. Tailor lessons to individual learning styles and pace. Provide opportunities for both independent and collaborative learning.
Assessment and Feedback. Use varied assessment methods, including informal and formal evaluations. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve.
Incorporate Technology. Integrate age-appropriate technology, such as educational apps and online resources. Utilize multimedia to enhance engagement.
Flexibility. Be flexible and willing to adapt based on the needs and interests of the students. Adjust lesson plans to address any challenges or unexpected opportunities.
First of all, I apologize for the delay. I have been sick and still under medications and am now getting better.
As for the question, it is always better to carry out needs analysis of those children with different age ranges in order to be aware of their needs first. Then you will categorize them in terms of those needs. Afterwards, you will be able to design the material type that will respond to the needs of each of them.
