A long line of embarrassing blunders that will be reversed and reversed again until they will stop and do nothing in the end.

USA is tied up in a small or big way just about in every part of the globe, so anything they decide will have immediate impact in many places. If some think they feel threatened by such a decision, they won't hesitate to turn into violence (9-11 experience).

My ten cents are that the coherent component in Trump's foreign policy would be unpredictability. He may adhere to make decisions on-the-spot or without inform in advance either allies or domestic officials. This could push allies to distance themselves from the US and look for other partners/self-reliance.

I suspect for all the bravado, if Trump ascended to power he would not be able to create or sustain a cohesive foreign policy.  I suspect that Trump would end up being a proxy for the powers around him in a similar way to Bush, but exacerbated due to his total reliance on those people.

I feel that his reliance on foreign policy experts might lead him to take non-cohesive policy stances, as Tamir & Terence suggest.  I am interested to see if, given this unpredictability, there might be a possibility that Trump would only further exacerbate the US' operations overseas, despite saying that he won't. One can only wait and see.

Relax everyone, Trump-Reich has absolutely no chance of winning the presidency. And the Smart Business man may just loose most of his businesses  holdings.

Here is why he will loose:

1-He degraded women by calling them fat pigs

2-He made an ugly fun of a handicapped Reporter.

3-He called Mexicans rapists, and drug dealers

4-He wants to stop all Muslims from coming in to the US.

5-He insulted POW Veterans of the US Armed Forces.

6-1% of African Americans will vote for him

6-I can go on and on, but I will stop .

-Please do the math!

Richard, we understand that his unpopularity will be his undoing. But we're merely extrapolating on the assumption that if he wins, what would his foreign policy be like?

@Richard - There is no math involved here. Voting in the US is completely voluntary.  If you could systematically discount those voting demographics it would be fine. eg. Degraded women - fine, that's 50% of the population discounted.  However, in a system where voting isn't mandatory, and where there are reasons to believe that regular voters will be less likely to vote in the face of two undesirable candidates, the voter turnout is not as predictable as in other polities. While I think Trump is an unlikely candidate, it is not outside the realms of possibility.  If Britain can Brexit then the US can Trumph - rationality is a rare commodity.

Speaking of infrastructure, if Trump does end up becoming President, would he still retain his position in his own organization? Or will he have to pick someone to serve as its 'interim' CEO/Director? I'm guessing that he will have his group placing itself at the forefront of this infrastructure fix-up and technological innovation, among other things.

I guess its time to re-read this thread.

He may well surprise the world. He can be compared to Theodore Roosevelt who believed the US had a great future and believed in a strong nation that considered its self interests. Time will tell, but it is much better than what we have experienced for the last couple of decades.
