I checked some paper using spin coating to coat PVDF-TrFE using spin-coating. They all use MEK as solvent so I follow this. I try to dissolve 10 wt% PVDF-TrFE nanopowder in MEK and magnetically stirring at 600 rpm at 55 degree c. After around 1 h stirring I found my solution very slurry. The molecular weight of the polymer is 40 kDa. Does any one has experience on the weight ratio / dissolution parameter such as rpm, temperature and dissolution time on the solution for spin-coating?

Dear Boyue Chen , probably the problem is the high concentration of copolymer by MEK volume. For instance, Arshad et al. used a concentration of 30 g/L and then the mixture was stirred for 24 hours to ensure complete dissolution. Please have a look to their work:

Manuel Gómez Hi Manuel, Thank you for your kind suggestion. I think you are right about the concentration. I reduce the concentration by half and easily achieve transparent solution within 1 hour.
