Not my field, but if these materials are difficult to dry without change, it may be better to measure the water content. As to measuring N and P, classical Kjeldahl digestion with a Se or Hg catalyst and sufficient K2SO4 to raise the BP to near 400 degrees (preferably a controlled T block) will destroy the matrix and should recover the elements.
