Dear English lecturers (teachers, instructors),

I am conducting research into ESL teaching to increase our understanding of how teachers have experienced special teaching conditions during the COVID19 pandemic. Your participation as respondents in the survey will be a valuable addition to the research and could lead to greater public understanding of ESL teaching and challenges in the field. As English teachers, you are in the ideal position to give us valuable first-hand information form your own perspective.

This questionnaire is designed for English language teachers (instructors) who teach in higher education. The objective of the research is to investigate how your remote teaching process went (or is still going) and to what extent your teaching approach and outcomes changed during the COVID19 pandemic. The aspect of the survey we will be particularly focusing on is CALL (computer-assisted language learning) which can be defined as ‘any process in which a learner uses a computer and, as a result, improves his or her language'' (Beatty 2010: 7).

To be statistically significant, the study needs to involve as many people as possible, from as many countries as possible. I know you are all very busy with the extra workload, but it would be fantastic if you could find the time to share this with your contacts. It takes less than 10 minutes to fill in the form.

All data will be collected anonymously, participants will not be personally identified in any report.

For questions and suggestions related to the research you can reach out via email: [email protected]

Thank you.
