Dear colleagues, I wonder how a university teacher can have enough time to teach (between 06 to 12 hours/week) and participate/communicate in several conferences and seminars all the year long? How do you tackle this issue? Do you have any privileges in your own institution which allow you to travel and participate to conferences rather than teach all the time?
In my opinion, teaching about 6-12 hours a week is a big opportunity for scientific development, conducting research, participating in conferences and writing scientific publications. In my country, the majority of research and teaching staff conduct didactics in the meaning of a larger amount of time, ie the number of hours of didactics at universities. In my country the majority of research and teaching staff this time is often tripled - four times higher, but nevertheless, scientific and didactic employees are obliged to develop scientifically, are obliged to conduct research, participate in conferences and write scientific publications.
