Taqman andvanced miRNA cDNA synthesis kit?

Hi,

Is the applied biosystems miRNA cDNA synthesis kit https://www.fishersci.co.uk/shop/products/taqman-advanced-mirna-cdna-synthesis-kit-1/15451034 specific to miRNAs only. i.e if I have a sample of total RNA only miRNAs will be synthesized into cDNA?

If I'm not mistaken, the RT enzyme will recognize only the added poly-A tail with a specific tag, so only the miRNA will be synthesized into cDNA. If you also want to analyze the mRNA, you must perform a separate RT reaction using another kit.
