When we are doing a narrative synthesis in the absence of poolable data, which would be the best way to assess the quality/certainty of evidence? I have already used the ROBINS-I tool for the risk of bias but what may be used instead of GRADE after the synthesis?

I believe you're referring to the "quantitative" synthesis of a systematic review...generally what one resorts to if the data don't qualify for a meta-analyses (which would be the difference between a systematic review and a meta-analysis). So from what I read and culled, there is actually a movement away from trying to quantify the risk of bias because that itself can introduce bias; and thus one discusses the possibilities of bias itself in this section.
