Hi everyone,
I have found myself in the rabbit hole of attempting to identify a robust method of conducting a narrative synthesis for my protocol. I am reading a variety of methods in both design and write-up (specifically what is and is not included).
I intend to use Prisma 2020 guidelines for reporting systematic review
Synthesis Without Meta-analysis (SWiM).
Does anyone have any resources that helped them shape their synthesis. Including styles of thematic analysis. For example, I am already experienced with Braun and Clarkes reflexive thematic analysis and was wondering if I could apply it to my narrative synthesis. I have not yet come across a paper that uses this method.
Also, what appraisal tools did you use? I am torn between CASP and JBI critical appraisal tool. It appears JBI is more methodologically robust but technical to use (requires training), and CASP is user friendly, but less robust.
In short - any advice, guidance, papers, and resources on making a robust narrative synthesis would be hugely appreciated!
Be gentle - this is a new endeavor for me!
Many thanks
Mel
