Has anyone using syngeneic tumor models observed a sudden drastic increase in intratumoral B cells? They are accompanied by high numbers of naive T cells (CD44neg/L-selectin positive). Is there a specific pathogen we should be on the lookout for? Mycoplasma tests are consistently negative. Any ideas welcome!
That's a great thought. Unfortunately the CD19 positive population has gone up over time, so we suspect some sort of infection... and perhaps tertiary lymphoid structures.
I have heard of this with lactate dehydrogenase elevating virus (LDEV) in the mouse colony.

Hi Benjamin, thank you for your thought! Yes, some cell lines such as the original MC38 line has this issue. However, we did test for that and many other viruses, and all samples came back negative. In the end, based on careful IHC, we believe that we were dealing with tumor-engulfed lymph nodes after all. This might have come about due to moving the inoculation site closer to the groin. We have now moved the site back to the original place and the problem seems to have gone away. Cheers, Sanna
