As we all know, conducting high quality HCI/Human Factors research requires extensive efforts. With the aim to investigate those efforts and later provide support, we are now conducting a small survey. Good to do surveys but the bias in your intentions is obvious :(# and your survey does not capture the full range of approaches used in HF research. You should also ask for statistical expertise of respondents and give more time for 'soft' methods as practiced on the other side of the Atlantic :)# ... and have some 'not relevant' options as well, otherwise you'll get un-necessary, inexplicable variance.

You are completely correct in a way that I do not cover everything, but this was also not the intent of the survey. While this would be favorable, I tried to keep the survey as concise as possible by focusing on a specific set of skills (which you might call bias here).
If you want, we can discuss this matter further via the messaging system or via email, as I want to try to not *bias* the following survey participants :)
This is an interesting study. Do you already have preliminary results and some initial data that could provide insights? Im curious to see your results from multiple backgrounds and cultures

Thank you for your interest. Currently there are about 70 complete responses (about 50 aborted the survey before submitting the last page- an analysis of those who stopped before the last page with those who finished has not resulted in any significant differences so far). Regarding backgrounds and cultures, the diversity of responses is probably still too limited. About 65% of responses are currently from Europe, 15% from North America -- the rest is distributed over the other continents. Also, about 80% state to have a Technical Sciences background, while only ~40% answered to have one in Social Sciences (multiple choices were possible) and even fewer (~9%) in Natural Sciences. Thus, for deeper insights in cultural differences, we probably need more responses! So make sure to share the survey with your colleagues.
I'll also send you some qualitative insights via private message, in order to not influence any future respondents reading this post.
