First of all, Covid19 pandemic was not a surprise, there were expected and predicted, as the result of multidimensional changes, which have been taken place in our planet for decades, and several specialists were predicting a possible pandemic, among them those researching coronavirus.
Regarding 2021, there will not any surprise: it will be worse than current year, because will be pandemic plus a huge economical (and sociopolitical from it derived) crisis, taken into account, at least, that resources will be exhausted (and people, specially those related with dealing directly with Covid19).
And what about 2022? Well, it is to early to predict, hopefully better. Of course, in different countries there will be different outcomes, given the existing and almost insulting inequality (there will be inner different outcomes too, for the same reason).
Nature is not in favor for which we has human being remain helpless . Only the ray of hope remains for the scientific & research development for offering the relief to the well number of human beings .In any of the case 2021 may not reflect the period of smiles accept the version & grace of almighty being a creator for every of us may come out with the ray of hopes .

Dear Dr Qusay Al-Dulamey , After many surprises, we started expecting more (such things) to come. So, I dont think it will surprise us any more (at least for now). Warm regards Yoganandan G
I think 2021 can also surprise us. Either in terms of new Covid 19 mutation or some financial strains and panic for Economy as well as public in general....Main sufferers will be have nots of society.....but I must say one thing it puts a question mark on the way of living, thinking and thought provoking year for everyone.....
What is important is how the world and the international community will deal with the coming challenges, including the epidemic, and on the basis of that, 'in sha' allh 2021 will be a good opening for the whole world
Life is full of surprises! Who knows what is going to happen in the future. The poet, Robert Francis beautifully talks about life's unexpected events in his poem called " the Hound". In this poem, he creates a sense of fear by depicting how unpredictable dogs are to life, using an extended metaphor to show that life is also uncertain and we have to wait to see what it brings to us.
