I would appreciate if you could suggest to me a topic for a PhD research. Artificial Intelligence Algoritme that needs improvement. Or suggest me some interesting papers that could help to find some gaps and write a proposal.
AI is a rather broad research area. You need to be more specific about what sub-area you want to address. For example, you could choose the general AI paradigm, such as statistical models, bioinspired models (e.g., neural networks), deep learning, etc. Or else, focus on applied problems such as robotics, natural language processing, vision, etc. Each case has its own particularities. As for the most trending topics, the most obvious is surely deep learning and its applications, within which I can enumerate the following sub-topics:
- Unsupervised/self-supervised learning
- Explainable AI (XAI)
- New modules for deep models such as attention mechanisms and possible alternatives
- Generative models
- Adversarial attacks/defenses, also referred to as Machine Learning security
All the above topics on large-scale vision tasks, autonomous driving, language models (translation, generation, etc.).
AI for Smart Homes: Connecting, storing, processing and communicating data by IoT devices/Sensors needs AI algorithms. Similarly there are many in many in domains
