In my lab for long-term preservation of fungi we use mainly lyophilization, but this method is rather time-consuming. I suggest that storage in Cryoprotective media (such as Cryoinstant TM) or in Vacuum tubes (such as Vacuette TM) (suspension in saline) will be suitable and more easy for this purpose. Do you have any experience in this field? What fungi, temperature and duration of storage did you use? Thank you in advance.
