Considering the difficulty in ensuring consistent and homogenous seeding of cells in multi-well dishes and the endless number of threads/advice/voodoo people resort to in order to avoid the cursed clustering of cells in the middle. Why doesn't anyone manufacture multi-well dishes with square wells? Is there an inherent reason? A practical one?

From my experience, for example, large square dishes and rectangular flasks give much more reproducible results than traditional round dishes.
