A person, whose profile got deleted answered the question "How can I convert absorbance data in UV-visible spectrophotometer at 600 nm to turbidity (cm-1)?" To which the last answer was as follows:
"Dear Saman,
You can calculate turbidity base on following equation:
Turbidity=(2.3*A)/L, where A is the absorbance and L the optical path length.
The unit would be cm-1"
I'm just wondering where he got the 2.3 from. And if it's not clear, then my question becomes, how do you calculate Turbidity as NTU from absorbance?
