I worked with Chronolab program, but this program is for Mac and it's old. Is there some similar program for PC or some latter version of Chronolab? Thanks
You might want to get in touch with Dr. Refinetti, friend and colleague of mine. He has developed programs. He should also know other commercially available programs:
Dear Aleksander, Cosine fitting is well tried and gives the necessary output variables. See our paper: Coffee in the cornflakes: time-of-day as a modulator of executive response control. Neuropsychologia. 2002;40(1):1-6. At the time we wrote our own software and used SPSS, however now CircWave, Chronolab and CoSOPT are available. Hope this helps. Best wishes
The R package offers a few useful functions for circadian rhythm analysis. These include spectral analysis (http://www.stat.pitt.edu/stoffer/tsa3/index.html)., Cosinor function (https://personality-project.org/r/html/cosinor.html). See also the JTK_Cycle algorithm ( Hughes ME, Hogenesch JB, Kornacker K. J Biol Rhythms. 2010 Oct;25(5):372-80), and Wavelet analysis. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18931366
For the beginners"The circadian physiology by Refenetti book is better, there you can find the software and also gives good education on how to collect the data and which is the suitable analysis for the data. It also depends upon the organisms that you are using for the study.
I would recommend the software El Temps, from Antony Diez-Noguera (University of Barcelona). So far, it is the most complete suite for Chronobiology analysis.
Hi all - I was wondering if anybody have access to a user manual for the software El temps? I can't seem to find one and it is not very user friendly to begin with.
The following publication discusses relative merits of different software packages available for rhythm assessment:
