Slag performance better at higher w/b ratios in acid attack?

I am observing superior performance of slag cementitious systems only (mass changes) at higher water binder ratios on exposure to acids when compared to flyash. Can anyone throw more light on it pls? The performance of slag was not good at lower water binder ratios.

Flyash little coarser than cement, slag little finer than cement. Avg particle size D50 of cement is around 19 microns. Fly ash replacement is 30% and slag replacement is 50% in 1:3 mortar.
