In general, the slump flow reduced with the increase in molarity of sodium hydroxide solution but I got opposite trend. I am not able to find the appropriate reason for increase in slump flow with increase in molarity of sodium hydroxide solution in fly-ash and GGBFS based self-compacting alkali activated concrete. If anyone can help, please mention the appropriate reason with suitable references.
Generally increasing the alkalinity decrease the viscosity of the mixtures. If you use KOH instead of NaOH the viscosity will significantly decrease more. On of the reasons to observe better workability with increase the molarity is that: at same water to solid ratio with the increase of the molarity you replace part of the solid precursors with NaOH which has lower water demand.
Keep in mind that in NaOH you have bound water due to: 2NaOH -> Na2O + H2O. Thus in each gram NaOH added to your mixture you actually added 0,23g H2O and 0.77 Na2O
