Hello everyone! First, I would like to thank you for taking time to help me out.
I am a final year student, studying Aeronautical Engineering and for a project, I need to do an analysis of pin-reinforced composite structure (different types of reinforcements will be used in the foam core sandwich panel).
My question is- how to add various types of reinforcements (our options are pins, truss, hat shape etc.) in foam core composite structure in simulation analysis (either in Abaqus or Ansys or any other software anyone can recommend)? Do the Boolean operation in Abaqus works in this case? or is there different methods of adding the reinforcements for better accuracy in the result?
My analysis mostly going to be vibration analysis, so is it also an important factor to add the 'cohesive element' in between the laminas, adhesive layers and the pins or any other reinforcements? Do you have any suggestions to move forward with this type of project/analysis?

You can embed the reinforcement/s in any material using the EMBEDDED_REGION constraint command available in the ABAQUS/CAE software.
