There is no doubts on what you say about depletion of resources and the need to use clean technologies for our vehicles

There are many alternatives, and for me one of the most promising is the hydrogen cell that produces electricity using hydrogen storage in the car., with out any contamination

However, whatever the clean technology used it is necessary to consider its production. In this case is the production of hydrogen, in other cases as in electric cars, it is the production of electricity

In any case, I don't think it is a solution just to solve one end, that is mobility, without considering production of what is needed. on the other end.

As long as sites e for hydroelectric generation are becoming more and more scarce it appears that the electricity production must be based in wind turbines, photovoltaic , biomass or geothermal. They appear to be the inexhaustible sources of energy for the future . However, we have also to consider the resources used and pollution produced in manufacturing wind turbines, and perhaps more important the contamination and the resources spent to manufacture the photovoltaic cells, as well as their disposal at the end of their life.

At present it appears to me that from this point of view the most convenient is biomass

I think there will be no one solution to the challenges we face. In some countries solar energy and biomass are the main renewable energies available driving economical solution towards the use of these energy carriers. In others it may be geothermal and wind. Energy from renewables won't be as cheap fossils in their haydays largely due to their energy density and need for storage in many cases. A growing world population does not help either. So we also need to reduce our energy consumption. Since transport is one of the main consumers of energy carriers new concepts and approaches are required. No robust answer could be provided to this question unless a thorough LCSA is performed on each alternative taking into account various scenarios and variables (e.g., urban sprawl, population density, public transportation systems, availability of resources, mobility, equity, and many other socioeconomic parameters).

Solutions might differ from case to case, place to place, and from time to time.

If, over the next few years, renewable energy sources replacing traditional energy based on the burning of minerals are developed on a massive scale, it might be possible for humankind to avoid a climatic catastrophe in the 21st century. Therefore, in each country, various types of renewable energy sources, electromobility in the automotive industry and eco-innovation should be developed in accordance with the level of development, financial possibilities, climate and economic conditions.

The above question inspired me to the following considerations:

What are the main directions of the development of electromobility of the automotive industry?

Will the technologies of electric motors and the new generation of batteries installed in cars and other motor vehicles be developed in the scope of the main directions of development of electromobility of the automotive industry? Will the technology of hydrogen engines or other types of engines be developed as part of the development of eco-motorisation? At present, in the majority of countries, there is no financial resources for financing high-budget pro-ecological projects from public finance funds? Should new, new ecological innovations, new technological solutions in the field of renewable energy sources, new ecoelectrodes producing electricity for the needs of electromobility in the automotive industry, new generations of batteries, photovoltaic panels, energy storage and transmission stations, hydrogen and other engines, etc. be created that the production and use of electricity generated from renewable energy sources becomes profitable, that it becomes a profitable business, that electromobility will become more and more profitable, profitable, and the prices of electric cars drop significantly? If this process lasts for a long time, there may be a shortage of time to implement the necessary reforms aimed at disseminating in the global economy a model of sustainable pro-ecological development based on the concept of green economy. If this process lasts much longer than by 2030, there may not be enough time to carry out the necessary reforms to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and, consequently, the planet's warming process will accelerate considerably, this process will be irreversible and will continue to accelerate and towards the end of the 21st century century will lead to a global climate disaster that threatens the life of all humanity and most other forms of life on Earth.

In view of the above, the current question is: What are the main directions of the development of electromobility of the automotive industry?

In a few years, strategic classic energy raw materials, ie minerals contained in the Earth's crust, will be exhausted.

Extracting these minerals from deeper layers of the earth's crust may be unprofitable.

Lobbying of companies from the mining sector of energy minerals, the energy sector based on the combustion of minerals and car companies and the pricing policy of energy raw materials are the main factors slowing down the implementation of necessary pro-ecological reforms, including the implementation of ecological innovations in the development of energy based on renewable energy sources and the development of electromobility in field of motorization.

It is therefore necessary to change the policy of development of the energy sector and the issue of shaping the development of motorization, including the key aspects of ecology. The state should co-finance the construction of power plants generating electricity and heat on the basis of renewable energy sources. In this way, it will be possible to implement real sustainable economic development carried out according to the green economy concept.

In my opinion, the lobbying of automotive companies as well as oil companies is the main hurdle to switch to friendly ways of transportation. We have a clear example from some decades ago, when the excellent tramway network in Los Angeles, was replaced by General Motors buses, which followed the same routes as trams did, and thus contributing to change a city with clear air to a contaminated urban area. Of course, the construction of urban highways added more fuel to the fire.

This change was repeated in many many cities around the world

Naturally, population growth has a large impact to, and then more cars and buses are needed to move people, however, cities like Amsterdam experienced the same problem of population increase but have contamination under control, by using trams and bikes.

There is without saying that as Aleksandr says, we need an aggressive policy of trees planting, elimination of plastic and better recycling

Currently, within the pro-ecological development of motorization, the development of electromobility is largely planned. More and more automotive companies either are already starting mass production of electric cars or are testing prototype models and are planning to start this type of serial production in the coming years. Few companies have already started producing hybrid power cars many years ago. Even fewer projects are being developed in the field of hydrogen-oxygen fuel, as production and storage of water is very costly and unprofitable in applications in the field of motorization.

As usual you hit the point. I believe that non-renewable fuels for cars will disappear, fortunately, in the medium term, perhaps in 10 years.

However, there is something that normally is not considered.If we use e-cars, hybrid or hydrogen fuel, we need to generate electricity to drive the cars in one way or another, and that most power plants, except in a very few countries use fossil fuels to generate it. Granted, I reckon that it is probably more efficient to have those power plants, that millions of cars burning fuels.

However, we need that in a near future most power plants or fuel consuming plants should be using clean energy.. Fortunately, it is happening. Today, I read in the newspaper that a plant of one of the largest Portland cement producers, Holcim, in Argentina, is scheduled in a very short period to start using wind energy, for a third of its production of Portland cement

It is also refreshing to learn that Spain, is meeting 30 % of its total needs from clean energy.

This is the example that we have to follow.
