Should paid journals (Business oriented journals with poor quality mostly, though they even sometime have high IF as are run by business giants) be accepted for promotion in Universities?
I Think the paid journals should not be considered for promotions at first place. As there you can publish in one two month by paying a huge amount. Poor country Pakistan poor researchers are publishing in paid journal sin groups by contributing 100 or 200 USD for completing papers for promotions is big alarm for those who publish in non paid well reputed journals and focus on quality. Unfortunately people after publishing in paid journals get promoted and become their bosses. Snub them and dont even let them work.
