We know what is innovation (or at least we think we know) and adaptation.

But,in the context of business, the term innovation is more spread. We often here about innovation or innovative products, ideas, etc. But, do we hear much about adaptation? If no, why?

The question is, does the company should only innovate? Or maybe sometimes its better to adapt? But, if so. How to decide whether innovate or adapt? At what stage should companies stop innovating and change their strategy to adaptation (so, it wouldn't be to late)?
