What do you think, over the next decades, e-learning would be more and more present in academia, or the face-to-face learning, will be replaced entirely? I need as many opinions (with arguments).
Generation Z read more easily in the virtual environment, zapping all day-long, on PC, notebooks, phones, tablets ...
A new approach of teaching must be prepared for "the Z generation". Does the academic staff, the faculty must change for these new approach?
How much? In which ways? Which are the challenges? How to proceed? These are only few questions, but critical ones.
This is true that the coming generation would be more virtual than face to face in learning. But I do not agree that face-to.face learning would be replaced altogether by e-learning. Certainly, more information would be available on the net in the morrow that would answer a larger number of questions of the learners. Thus, the challenge for teachers would be to adapt to the new mode more and more, to devise tests that can be given online, develop more audio-visual material so as to enable the students to learn in the mode that they want to use. The teachers would be under greater pressure to develop cases, exercises, and questions that do not have answers on the net, because more open book and online tests are likely to be given.
