The reason i ask this question is because the same article that is rejected by one journal is publish by another. There is even a case were two reviewers of the same journal gives very far apart suggestion,one rejecting completely and the other impress by the work and suggesting modification.Let me know your opinions dear friends.Thank you.
Soh, you have a raised good question here but this is what the whole world does. Everyone has different perspective to the same issue. That is why two Profs can grade an exam paper and award completely far apart grade. The Educational System is only concerned about what could be used to access the performance of its employees and has resolved to use publications. Rejecting or accepting a manuscript by a reviewer has so many factors other than the quality of the work. However, even when a manuscript is rejected by a journal, the reviewers' comments usually help to improve the work in most cases. So, the author looses nothing much. We do hope that some reformation will happen to the process of publishing a manuscript just like post-peer review.
Reviewing articles must follow objective principles. Partiality and subjectivity have no place in academic circles in general and in reviewing in particular. As you have astutely observed, reviewers must review articles without knowing who and where there are coming from.Considering such issues will invariably involve personal beliefs which can negatively influence decisions. As Blaise Pascal once said, “People almost invariably arrive at their beliefs not on the basis of proof but on the basis of what they find attractive.”
