Recently I treated laparoscopically a 3 year old boy with asymptomatic urachal cyst, which was detected by accident in course of sonographic investigation of bladder dysfunction. The latter was connected with cerebral palsy. Looking back, a recall three cases of infected urachal cysts in much older children, where I performed urgent open surgical excision. Is there an established term of surgical treatment of this anomaly?

in my experience they are rather common, and most are asymptomatic.
Large or symptomatic ones I excise, small ones I leave alone.
