Doped metal perovskites have been synthesized but the dopant has shifted the XRD peaks to lower theta value and crystallite size has also increased by addition of dopant. The dopant and host metal used have similar ionic radii. What could be the possible reasons for this increase and shifting? Any reference from literature?

Even doping with the same ionic radii, may be but not with the same oxidation state, lower shift should happened. You can assure that with noticing the intensity of base peak and relative intensity of other peaks

The lower shift of 2theta is due to change in the bond length which changes due to formation of compressive strain in the material due to doping. Your 2theta will change the d spacing which results in the change of lattice parameter. Actually the bond length is correlated to ionic radii of cation and anion.

Shifting can be due to displacement, transparency, and or the sample itself. It would be best if you do the refinement.
