Does anyone have experience with JASP for structural equation modeling (SEM) vs. M+? As a stats TA for an incoming cohort, there's not much I can do this year. However, as an SPSS user (since v. 7.2), S+, M+, SAS, Matlab and budding R user, I'm looking for stable, open-source statistics software/programs - especially as I see many of the research universities/teaching hospitals moving in this direction, too.

I found an old thread on M+ v R (lavaan) and was wondering whether anyone has more current comparisons, esp. with JASP as many students initially feel more comfortable in a GUI environment? The old discussion mentioned that random slopes was not available in R.

Thanks in advance,

Holly
