I am currently conducting research into the use of SDT within Social Work and related areas. This is often unexplored territory for in contrast to education, upbringing and labor relations, SDT is little used within Social Work. In recent years there has been interesting research into a possible fourth basic psychological need (Martella, Prentice). Candidate is "moral need satisfaction".

Is it possible that this fourth psychological basic need bridges the gap between SDT and Social Work?
