Role changing of Master/Slave?

Currently, I am working on a wireless body area network with multiple sensors. My target is to change the master and slave roles each time based on the Received Signal Strength(RSS). Is it possible with Zigbee technology? Can you suggest something suitable? Till now I have a fixed master.

I also need suggestions over communication protocols.
