I am trying to isolate RNA from wheat grain samples at different developmental stages of grain filling duration and I successfully isolated RNA from one genotype but few samples from second genotype are creating a problem. The attached image shows RNA from different samples.The nanodrop readings are almost similar for all the samples but the gel image indicates only 5S RNA band in 7 of the 15 samples. So, is it the problem with the tissue itself or some problem with my extraction? Your suggestions will be appreciated.

Do you use Trizol method or Kit?
I would say that there is a degradation in the samples in the wells 7-15.
In this case I would work under clean hood and avoid any RNase.
I assume that the samples did not processed or frozen immediately which may cause the RNA degradation.
