I need to buy some reagent for tissue conservation to RNA extraction and qPCR. But, the price difference between these companies is very large! Can anybody help me?
I believe the component's of Sigma/Life's RNAlater are proprietary, but you can make your own. http://ccoon.myweb.usf.edu/ecoimmunology.org/RNAlater_recipe.html
How about The RNAlater recipe of Chen's (Ammonium Sulfate-EDTA etc.). There are other recipes, shch as "Lysis Buffer"( Use of "Lysis Buffer" in DNA isolation and its implication for museum collections. In: Occasional paper, Number 163. Museum of Texas Tech University.) and NAsafe (http://primerdigital.com/nasafe.html). Which one is the best for RNA conservation.
My guess is they are either made by the same source or are licensed to use the same protocol. You should be able to make your own kit also, just follow the literature!
