Cristine, do you still want to study flower color genetics? There is a good exampe - yellow vs. white flowers of brassica oleracea. White is dominant, but white from Portuguese kales and Chinese kales are different - their cross gives yellow floweres. Both white are linked to heat resistance of plants. Yellow - to cold tolerance.
