I use isotopic labelled compounds as recovery standards, prior to extraction. Is it better to calculate the RRF fpr each compound or make a calibration curve? If I use a calibration curve, should I treat the labelled standards as internal standards so as to calculate the concentration of the compounds in the unknown samples?

I would always prefer a calibration curve as this allows you to determine a calibration function like y= mx+ n where n is a constant factor for the y-axis intercept at x=0 and independent of x. In the case of relative response factors you end up with y=mx, and ignor the y axis intecept. Also with single RRFs you have not prooven a linear relationship over the whole concentration range.
