I noticed several members just add non-informative generic comments in various threads, such as :"following" or "interesting discussion".
With all due respect to all, I am not sure if this is just a way to boost / artificially inflate their Research Gate score?
If so, this is unfair practice, as besides being fake scores, they disturb the discussion flow and the notifications of the followers.
I wonder if such can be addressed by the Research Gate community? For example, adding a similar button to Recommend/Like to Dislike such disturbing posts?
In your opinion, would the correlation between Research Interest and research Gate scores distinguish between the "true researchers" and the other group?
Honestly, I don't get very well how this works in the end. What I've seen in the last weeks is that no matter that I'm publishing some updates in projects, participating in some questions or getting more reads/citations, my RG score remains always the same. On the other hand, my Research Interest is increasing. So I'm not so sure about the score they are inflating.
In any case, I agree that some Like/Dislike button, or even a 'spam' button would help. Not only to reduce (and at some point, remove) that kind of posts, but also to know which 'real' answers may have more utility.
