Perhaps you need to provide more details on your target students because there are many books on both, science and arts whereby the approaches used vary.
Zhwan Sktani. As a quick suggestion, I have found the following book to be both advanced and well written:
Portney, L. G., & Watkins, M. P. (2009). Foundations of clinical research: Applications to practice (2nd ed.). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Prentice-Hall.
Although its focus is on health, its contents are much broader. It has a quantitative focus, though there is a good chapter about qualitative methods.

Zhwan Sktani. You're really welcome, Zhwan. Given what you have written a couple of posts above here, I suspect that you might need a variety of texts. Googling the topics might yield you some good ideas / texts.
All the best with what you plan. Incidentally, I used to teach research methods, including a fair amount of statistics, and I really enjoyed it. That was mainly because I was blessed with very intelligent, enthusiastic, respectful, and funny students. I hope you're blessed with the same.

Zhwan Sktani. You're welcome. I have noticed that your field is materials and mechanical engineering, which makes me sensitive to the fact that different disciplines go about doing research in different ways. Therefore, the books that I and others have suggested might not be the most helpful for you.
I know that when I was teaching research methods to allied health students, some students would come to me at the start of semester and ask for a waiver (credit) because they had done statistics in an economics degree. I didn't ever give them credit because the stats in the two fields are very different from each other. And, surprisingly, although most students hate stats, all of those students came back to me and told me that they were really glad I didn't give them credit for their previous studies: The stats, as well as they ways of approaching research, really were very different.
Anyway, might you appreciate other suggestions? I could make some, but at the moment I'm not sure they'd be appropriate. For example, is all of the research you're interested in of a quantitative nature, or is some of it qualitative?
Might you appreciate references to good books about how to use such packages as SPSS?
