It appears to me that ResearchGate has recently chosen to reduce the capability to communicate with other researchers who cite one's research. I think this is very unfortunate.

As an example, someone cited one of my rather highly cited papers dealing with women and mathematics. They missed a later publication from the same study that has the more important results but is in a rather obscure book. But this is something that I have loaded into ResearchGate so it is readily available. I wanted to tell the authors that but found that the capability to do so had disappeared.

Just today I received notice of a citation of another of my publications about women and mathematics, by a group of researchers from Ghana. These people seriously misinterpreted what I said. They seem to think that what I said about the representation of women among math majors in the US in the 1950s applies to the present day. Bad. But I found that there was no longer a possibility of making a comment on their paper.
