We are deploying static underwater cameras for long-term marine biodiversity monitoring. A key challenge is biofouling of the lens surface, which requires frequent manual cleaning and interrupts continuous observations.

We are therefore seeking commercially available coatings (preferably already within the EU market) that are:

  • Transparent (suitable for camera optics, minimal distortion/attenuation)
  • Durable in seawater under continuous immersion
  • Non-toxic / environmentally safe if possible
  • Practical to apply to glass lens windows

If anyone has experience with specific products, suppliers, or field-tested solutions (including antifouling films, clear coatings, or fouling-release technologies), your input would be very valuable.
