Hi all,
I'm looking for recommendations on an antibody I can use to detect Beta lactamase TEM-1 (from E. coli) in immunofluorescence microscopy.
I'll be using it to measure sub-cellular localisation of TEM-1 fusion proteins. We have an antibody that is appropriate for western blot, but I haven't had much luck optimising it for immunofluorescence. (though I'm open to suggestions there also!)

That's great thought. What kind of microscope are you using? I think you need to improve the magnification and resolution for fluorescence microscopy.
If the antibody is working for western blotting but not for immunefluorescence means, the antibody is against a linear epitope which is marked in the native form, the case for immunefluorescence. Did check the manufacturers details about the antibody whether it works for immunefluorescence? if not, I would suggest go for another antibody which is known to work with native proteins or for IHC or IF.
