Recombinant rat IL-1a in murine cell culture?

We have been using recombinant rat IL-1a in rat cell cultures for years, now we are doing preliminary experiments with murine cell cultures, and we are not seeing the response we would expect. We suspect that the murine IL-1R1 does not bind the rat IL-1a. Any experience with this?
