For not to have seen literature in your area of study means that it is new or have not attracted scholars to it, therefore giving an edge to do work that will serve as a template for people to use. Then, some of the factor might that if there is a large crowd it is always good to use digital, moreover, it saves the curator or exhibition officer time of taking people around the museum, meanwhile individual with disability can enjoy the museum collections with digital information. while if some of the visitors are researcher given books to read will aid their mission in the museum.

Some suggestions I have read consider the balance of the digital:object relationship.

i.e. the visitor behaviour of study and curiosity towards the object itself (e.g. form/shape/colour etc) is diminished and overshadowed by, say, a video of a digital reconstruction of the object. Subsequently, turning the 3D realness of the object into the attractive 'glitz' of the imagery and video.

Hello Susan. That's an interesting question.

The museum visit always provides added value that a website does not provide, since it allows to view the exhibits more directly. The website can provide additional information including videos and digital reconstructions, which can be more attractive than original pieces themselves. But sometimes the museum itself is part of a cultural enclave, ie, it is a historic building that has been restored and ready to host exhibitions. In these cases the visitor always learn more by visiting it personally, since being immersed in the original and genuine physical space provides an enriching experience, hardly obtainable from a website.

In visits to museums and cultural heritage it is desirable to improve the user experience with digital resources and devices, but never forget how enriching it is the direct observation of the contents through the tactility, smell, temperature or spatial feeling.

One issue behind digital content is how it is presented - and one problem can be the lack of interaction - digital displays can be static and not necessarily draw visitors into different types of engagement. This is often the case with aerial photographs, and the two references below provide good examples of how museums have tried to avoid using the imagery as wallpaper, but rather as a means to draw out interaction and in one of the examples user directed content generation.

This article does not go into much detail about arguments for digital content in the museum, but contextualises implementation of AV-material (for example, videos of musical performances), interactives and apps in music museums, which are now following the wave led by science museums.

I will go through all your recommendations and papers hopefully i could build an argument for my result. Actually, i did not explain in detail in my question, I Used computer vision technology in my study and i observed participants. but i saw that once the app recognized the image and redirected them to the webpage then they just looked very quickly at the contents without any detail look/read. that is why i am looking for literature to explain why people behave like that.

I think, the digital content needs to be engaging. Just having additional information is not helpful, as usually a museum visit is already overwhelming content-wise.But if you provide a very brief piece of additional information whose additional value is immediately visible, users might use that.

I am not sure whether or not this is relevant or perhaps it is the start of a whole new topic but here goes.  My personal circumstances actually make me extremely wary about the use of digital content due to the possible discrimination that this involves towards people with certain kinds of disabilities who are prevented from accessing online content, until this year I shared this handicap so this is from personal experience.  This means that I believe museums must be very careful about relying too much on using digital means to 'enhance' the visitor experience.  However, this is based on experiential learning rather than consideration of published literature since in my experience museum professionals tend to side line issues such as accessibility except where it is fashionable for them to do so.
