My reagent shows slight color change in six months ( Colorless to slight yellow). It does affect my test runs after 6 months giving me low signal. But when I checked its ph ,redox it is same as compared to the fresh sample. How can I analyze or identify what's happening overtime to the reagent? and will adding a stabilizing agent give me a better stability? Any suggestion or advice will be appreciated .

Hi Janaki. Check it's absorbency by UV, make note of the value when it's no longer giving you a good signal and use this as your stability test. What is the reagent?
You do not write about what is this sample, so it's hard to say something constructive.
However, if - as you write - they are slight changes in color, it is possible, that - as so often in the case of environmental samples - in sample appear products of degradation processes under the influence of light.
If the changes are actually very small, it is often sufficient to store the sample in a dark container (bottle) at reduced temperature.
From my experience I can give you this advice, as long as it is possible you avoid adding stabilizers.
I don't know what is the material, but one way to check if something is happening is to do FTIR, easy and quite faster to see any change with the time and then you can make a study of stability x time.
