Quickest method to detect apoptosis in frozen tissue sections?

I have harvested tumor tissues from mice subjected to drug treatment and subjected these to cryofreezing using OCT.

I need to show the presence of apoptotic cells in these tissue samples. While I'm aware that TUNNEL staining is performed for the same, are there any other methods that may save time and money?
