hello everyone, i am testing my adsorbent using atomic absorption, an initial cadimium concentration of 100ppm has been tested, the concentration after the assay with atomic absorption is 2ppm, and i doubt that this resulted is wrong, knowing that I used a calibration curve of 0.1ppm concentartion; 0.4ppm; 0.8ppm and 1.2 ppm noting that the results obtained are far from the concentration range of the calibration curve, I must dilute the solutions before the analysis or I should calibrate with greater concentration with an interval that includes 100 ppm

Diluting the sample is fine, as long as the concentration is within your standards and matrix matched. Most analysts use dilute Nitric acid (0.1N) which solubilizes the Cadmium and prevents precipitation. Use standards that are closer to your expected concentration (like 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0,50, 1.00 ppm).
Remember, the AAS response is sigmodal which means your standard and the sample concentrations should be in the linear portion of the curve where,
