good question
to me it is what makes u experience both pleasure and learning. usually both brain hemispheres are involved in doing and completing the games..apparently, as the fun side of the games outweighs its learning side, one enjoys them more and has a great tendency to give them a try.
i used to play different kinds of games( ranging from physical to cognitive) . i always used to win, which gave me self-confidence. through games i learned many things. games provide people with an opportunities to test out their abilities, capabilities, knowledge , in a free and open way.

You mentioned winning games helped you gain your self-confidence. Then, do you make any connection with the real-life? And do you still play games?
I believe the best games are based on something from life that the players have not had a chance, nor most likely wont have a chance, to experience in real life. Most games are based on this premise but most have to do with sports or warfare. I believe there is a need for games that allow people to be the scientists, physicians, interior designers, architects and such that they wish they could be. Games based on dreams we have in real life (such as other careers) would be something I would play whereas I would never play today's fighting or racing, etc games.

Your perspective towards playing games is very impressive as you are making connection between dreams we always have but not always realize in real life and dreams we are able to realize in the games. Then, which games do you play instead of popular ones currently?
I enjoy and play medical simulation games such as those on vHealthcare and others. As a medical professional I like to do simulation games in different practice areas than I work in, in real life. I also like to play crime-solving games (my undergrad degree is in Forensics). I play them as it allows me to use knowledge I have but in a field that I don't work in any longer (and enjoyed but the pay was substandard so I moved on to greener pastures).
The games you play sound interesting to me. I see that games are a good vehicle for you to learn, to practice, and to have fun. They have positive effects on your overall life and work. Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences! Robyn Smith
i d like to play games but now i don't have neither free time nor partners nor co-players;. sometimes i do individual games such as mimicking a teacher or a lecturer or reporter just for my part time job.
