According to Google Scholar, over the past 5 years there were over 50,000 publications that mentioned NVivo. That suggests that you can find what you want by using a more refined search in Google Scholar to combine your substantive interests and the word NVivo,
David L Morgan, Thank you very much for your kind suggestion. Yes, I have searched on google scholar but have not found what I am actually looking for. Basically I am a new user of NVivo and trying to write a report which is based on analyzing data using NVivo. That is the reason why I am trying to find a paper to write my methodology section. To be specific, I want to know how others have described their methodology in respect to NVivo. Thanks once again
I believe you are thinking about this too hard (i.e., too much). NVivo is nothing more than a tool for implementing your analysis strategy. I suggest that you look at some of the qualitative articles in references. Did they even mention which software package they used, and if so did they do more than mention it by name?
Most of the articles that I see have only one paragraph on analysis, and that is about the strategy used (eg.g, Thematic Analysis), and not about the software.
Regarding your data analysis, the software should not be a first consideration. Focus should rather been on the methodology which will inform how you analyse your data. I am not sure if I get you right but NVivo is not a methodology, only a tool to aid you to manage your data especially when you have a lot to work on. The methodology or approach you choose will influence how you use NVivo. Not many published article provide step by step details about how they used their NVivo, those procedures are only related to their methodology, not NVivo. At best, what most do is to write one sentence indicating that their interview data were managed/analysed by NVivo. NVivo does not really "analyse" the data, but the researcher does. I advise you look to YouTube where you can find some relevant videos on how to use NVivo
Yes, I agree with both of you Ebenezer Cudjoe and David L Morgan . I have collected, managed and analyzed my qualitative data using NVivo. I was just thinking whether I should write the details of the data management (what I did using NVivo) in the analysis section or not! Thanks for your time and reply.
