I synthesized NiCoFe2O4 nanoferrite. I used XRD to prove the formation of NiCoFe2O4 nanoparticles. I understood that the position of the peaks is correct. I mean that the nanoferrite powder diffracted in correct angels (2 theta = 35, 40, 43, 65 degree) based on references but MY PROBLEM is the sharpest peak in references is in 35 degree but my sharpest peak is in 43 degree. (I have the most count in 43 degree but in references the most count is in 35 degree). Is it important or no? and could I claim that I synthesized NiCoFe2O4 nanoparticles successfully? If not, how can I prove that?

Named the composition of the ferrite is not straightforward. Your composition, (micro)structure (or texture), the distribution in sublattices can be different from the reference.

There is not problem if one peak intensity greater than another,the sharpest peak is in 43 degree this mean the preferred orientation (miller indices) for your compound at this angle, and this because the compositions of compound and Dr. Alexander noted that. Also, you synthesized NiCoFe2O4 compound successfully, but how can you prove synthesized NiCoFe2O4 nanoparticles successfully. I think that need some observations and calculations about figure of xrd, and this not enough but you need TEM, SEM, and UV-Visible tests.

The intensity of xrd peaks do have the correlations with the particular compound formation but it is not only the tool to say what you say 'to claim'!. However, sometimes due to the shape or texture of particles, the peak intensity differs. Well it is simple to understand, you imagine a spherical particle, and xrd incident on it diffracts with some amount, which differs for different textures, although both are same .Other studies will help your claim and XRD alone cannot
I am worried that there is no well resolved peaks on your XRD spectrum for your claim and contains noise signals. Repeat your XRD measurements
Well if you could not show your resolved peaks, then it would be difficult to interpret the composition using XRD. Whatever be the size. Other way of doing is using low angle diffraction. Even people are getting resolved spectrum for DNA which sizes around 5 nm. In your case, I feel it is rather difficult to interpret.However, try claiming your nanoparticles using some other studies.

What is thickness value for your sample?
I think your problem may because low thickness for your sample which tend to reduce the intensity for your samples.

I mean in my question the thickness for your sample (NiCoFe2O4 nanoferrite) which was characterization in xrd test for example (100, 140, 300, ..nm) or may be 1000 nm.
Spherical particles with size around 4-5 nm, this mean donot get on the sharp peaks in xrd figure but will get on the wide peaks as were shown in your figure because the spherical particles is very small and this behaviour mean you get on (nano), but the noise in general in the figure may be as low thickness for sample (not grain size).
This mean this thickness not caused the low intensity for peak.
Dear Farnaz dont worry, but you need use another technique to prove synthesized NiCoFe2O4 nanoparticles successfully, as TEM technique.

I mean that the composition is given in General form. And depending on the specific relation between Co and Ni, technology and mode of producing it may be different crystallochemical composition and cation distribution on the sublattices.

The only thing I can guess is that you might have some impurity in your synthesized NiFe2O4.One of these impure phases can be iron(III) oxide.I have checked the XRD patterns of these oxides and noticed that gama-Fe2O3 has a sharp peak around 2-Theta 43 and this peak can be the cause for the sharp peak you observed in the nickel ferrite pattern.Please check other peaks of this iron oxide to see if you have some of them in the pattern of NiFe2O4.

If you have used FeKalpha radiation instead of CuKalpha radiation than sharp 311 peak may be at 43 degree instead of 35 degree very simple.
