Part is first made in PROE 5. After that it is imported in ANSYS Workbench for static structural analysis. Its a newly developed PVC pallet. It has very fine details such as ribs and fillets to increase the strength and reduce the stress concentration at different parts of the pallet. After applying all the load and constraints in the ANSYS mechanical, the model is set for analysis all things go well before an error occur showing the RAM or memory is insufficient. I have laptop with 8gb of RAM. There must be some techniques to cater this problem, one of them is XFEM, but I donot have any idea of it. Can anybody explain what is the solution to this problem using ANSYS?
First have a good look at your mesh. Try to optimise it if possible. You may consider using different element type.
Also you need to see what is the amount of RAM, suggested to run ANSYS (ANSYS_MEMORY_SIZE). It is probably much less than 8GB. You can change that value and try to run your analysis again. Using too many processor cores also may not be the best idea (yeah, I know it seems strange). ANSYS recommends to use no more than half of the cores and no more than 4, else memory problems may appear.
