We recently perfomed some DRX experiments in different alumina samples. In one of them, we only observed alfa-alumina phase, but in other sample a peak corresponding to sodium polyaluminate appeared.

This sodium polyaluminate is effectively the beta-alumina phase? Where does it come from, are they some impurities derived from the synthesis process?
